We hope you enjoy some of the cute, sometimes profound things Desi has said to cause much wonderment on the part of her ever-learning parents.
Jesus and Friend Bear
In case you don’t know, Desi came to live with us in August of 2005, when she was 2 1/2 years old. In our efforts to make Jesus and all He means an integral part of her life, we made sure to explain all we could to Desi–at least as much as her little mind could comprehend.
One of her most popular questions about Jesus was “Where is He?” So, we explained that Jesus is everywhere, listing all the places she could identify with, and we told her Jesus also lives in our hearts. This seemed to quell her curiosity, as she had no more questions on the subject. About two weeks later, I was tucking her in bed, along with her favorite Care Bear, when she starts carefully inspecting him from head to toe. (Remember, Care Bears have little heart-shaped button noses, and a heart-shaped button on their bums). Well, to finish off the inspection, Desi turned Friend Bear upside down, and intently stared at his bum for a couple moments. It was obvious her little mind was furiously working something out. Suddenly, she looked up at me, grinning from ear to ear. As though she had just made the discovery of the century, she proudly anounced, “Mommy! Jesus lives in my Care Bear’s butt!”
